2024 Report
Report
It was a wet one this year. Runners set out at 5 am under a steady rain that persisted well into the afternoon, making several parts of the course very wet and wreaking havoc on runners’ feet. The silver lining was that it was generally cool and cloudy for the entire race with a beautiful day Sunday.
Stephen Knight NC was first male in 20:59:05 and Justyna Wilson from PA was first female in 23:22:33. It was both runners’ first MMT.
61 year old Sheryl Wheeler of Earlton, NY, set a new female super senior (60–70) record of 29:50:23, besting Barb Isom’s 31:33:01 set in 2010 when she was 62. She was also the first super senior finisher — male or female — this year. Sheryl also owns the 26:16:10 female senior record, which she set in 2016.
73 year old Randy Dietz from Harrisburg, PA, established a new male septuagenarian record of 33:45:49, eclipsing Gary Knipling’s 34:25:33 set in 2015 when he was 71.
