Read moreOver in Appomattox, VA, Matt Woods was second male and Martha Nelson was third female at David Horton’s 17th annual Holiday Lake 50K on Saturday. Marty Lindemann was the first female over 50 in a PR. Many VHTRC members reported PRs and fast times on the two-loop course.
Read moreMany VHTRC runners traveled to wet and muddy Huntsville, Texas for the Rocky Raccoon 50/100 on February 4-5. Sabrina was the first female finisher in 17:06. 78-year-old Ed Demoney finished the 50 mile in 17:14.

Read moreOur friends at the West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners’ club held the West Virginia Trilogy over the past weekend, October 7-9. Described as a “triptych of runs on the Eastern Continental Divide”, runners are able to run a 50 km race, then a 50 miler, and then finish their long weekend up with a trail half marathon.

Read moreIt was a fun night to be out on some of the northern Massanutten trails around Signal Knob for the 2011 Moonlight Run. 22 runners (2 dogs and 20 others) showed Friday Feb 18 for what was likely the warmest winter running of this event. A number of the vets seemed to miss having snow to reflect the moon, and to soften the trail. Looked like everyone had a good time nonetheless.
