Last Saturday, 22 volunteers from the VHTRC contributed 183 volunteer hours at our annual Massanutten work party. These volunteers cleared encroaching undergrowth and removed downed trees from over 20 miles of trail, including Kerns Mountain, Bird Knob, Roaring Run, Browns Hollow, Massanutten South Trail, the Massanutten Connector, and the Massanutten Trail up to Scothorn Gap. Runners at tomorrow’s MMT will enjoy our handiwork, making those last miles of MMT a little less painful. More importantly, countless hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and trail runners will benefit from our work. We made a difference.
