Furbutt’s Favorites is a place to catalog the VHTRC’s standard “fun runs” as well as some of our other favorite training runs. Think of it as a Hiking Upward geared for trail and ultrarunners, featuring longer routes of 15–30 miles. The name derives from the VHTRC’s running bear mascot, Furbutt .

A nice complement to Furbutt’s Favorites is Bill Sublett’s GPX Tracker. Bill is a longtime club member and his site has all of the various trail segments throughout Shenandoah National Park, the Massanuttens, George Washington National Forest, and beyond. If you wish to contribute your own run but don’t have a GPS track for it, Bill’s site can build one for you.
