VHTRC Awards: Is your nomination list ready?

What an incredible year it’s been for our Happy Trails runners. We’ve seen some amazing and inspiring performances over the course of 2015, and the racing year isn’t even over yet. As we reflect on the great things our members are doing on the trail and in support of all things Happy Trails, it’s time to start thinking about putting these folks up for our annual VHTRC Awards.

This time around, the annual club Awards Party where we raise a glass to toast the accomplishments of our award recipients will be held Feb. 6, 2016. But before that, we’ve got some homework to do.

First things first, we need your help in the nomination process. We recognize runners in categories including Runners of the Year, Performances of the Year, Most Improved, Rookie of the Year, and beyond. (The full list of awards and their criteria — not yet updated to reflect 2015 dates — is available here.)

The nomination period will be open from Dec. 14-21, but given all the amazing things our members have done this year, we want to give you all time to think through your nominations before the submission window.

So who inspired you this year? Was it one of our club legends who toed the line at A Race for the Ages this fall? Is there some new-to-trail-running upstart who’s out there killing it in their first year of running on dirt? Or is there some unsung hero out there who’s doing great work behind the scenes to keep the club and its activities going strong?

Given all the awesome things our members have been doing, it’s hard to keep up with all of the nomination-worthy performances and contributions, so start digging in now on the club’s News page and race results on Ultra Signup to make sure you’re not missing anyone you’d want to nominate a few short weeks from now.
