Trail Work on the Bull Run Occoquan Trail

Trail running isn’t much without trails. On October 21, John Stacy, Sirisha “Iris” Golla, Francesco “Smitty” Smith, Jeff Reed, and Keith Knipling contributed roughly 20 person-hours repairing the steps at the Pope’s Head Creek crossing on the Bull Run Occoquan Trail near Hemlock Overlook. These steps had been damaged during the heavy rains this spring and summer. All Bull Run Run 50 runners, and countless trail users, will benefit from this work. The VHTRC will be doing another trail-working outing this winter — hope to see you out there. (Iris is making a strong statement for Volunteer of the Year, after staffing an aid station yesterday at the Quad State Quad Buster.)
