Minutes from September 11, 2023 Board Meeting

New business

Holy Cowans Gap

Brett and Sheila have communicated with Stephanie and have provided what is needed to transition to our new event director. All Board members approve Stephanie Fonda taking over as event director.

Women’s Half Marathon

Tracy gave a debrief noting budget was accurate. Pro’s to this year’s event — free child care was provided. Shoe recycling was a success and Tracy received very positive feedback. Positive quote, “I didn’t know anyone there but felt like I was running with a friend.” Next year’s date has not been released. There was discussion on moving it one week later.

Infrastructure: Items have been borrowed from the storage unit and not returned. Discussion on how to encourage other event/race directors to bring back items used so the next race isn’t without infrastructure. More canopies need to be purchased. The women’s half uses 10-11 canopies. It would be wise to have a separation of Event Infrastructure vs Race Infrastructure.


Rob Colenso will oversee the elections with help from Keith Knipling.
Options in the future:

  • Staggering terms
  • Adding more board members
  • Special elections if someone leave midterm
