Minutes from May 8, 2023 Board Meeting

Meeting held by video conference.

Called to order: 7:10 pm

New business

Bull Run Run Debrief

All went fantastic due to the amazing volunteers. Next BRR date will be first Saturday in April. Katie and Quatro advised a new possible tenant will be moving in which may allow us access to the buildings again. It could also mean more fees. They also discussed the possibility of utilizing a chip timing system in the future.

Katie attended a RunSignUp seminar and is knowledgeable on using the free app for timing.

This event was cupless and it seemed to go well, but may need more volunteers with pitchers for refilling for next year.

The Ring and Reverse Ring

The Board had a Q&A with Daisy, Jesse, and Lauren. They discussed their willingness to take over The Ring and Reverse Ring from Quatro and Mike. All three members have experience on the Massanutten Trail and volunteering. We reviewed the guidelines for the events.

Youth Division

Josie and Tracy Cooley discussed options for involving kids with MMT. Kid membership, separate from adult/parent was discussed along with needing kid specific waivers that will need to be created for different events.

Backyard Ultra

Tracy Cooley is interested in heading up this event. She plans to connect with Sarah Smith for more insight and the board will contact BLM to discuss weekend availability.

Fishhook 45k

Budget for sticker and general aid was discussed.

Other business

  • Upcoming events: Holy Cowans Gap and Catherine’s Furnace
  • Trail work day set for May 13 at 7am
