Minutes from March 6, 2023 Board Meeting

February Minutes

Fredericksburg Ultra

Event is progressing.

Backyard Ultra

Discussed possible dates (10/14/2023) and race formats allowing varied start times for participants and a last loop that would be raced. VHTRC would need an RD to lead this event.

Bull Run Bluebell Festival

April 8th at 10:00am. VHTRC has been offered a table at the event. Volunteers would be able to showcase VHTRC. Sara and Jon will take lead on the event.

Social Media

Sara will be producing a guide to help Race Directors with promoting their races or events using social media.

It could be beneficial to begin using the Events Pages on the VHTRC Facebook page to promote the events/runs in lieu of creating new pages for each event.

The Board discussed developing a best practices guide so the information used for races on different social media platforms are not lost when there is a change with the Race Director.

Events

MMT Training Run #3 to be held on 3/18 - no changes
BRR Training Run #3 to be held on 3/19 - no changes

Gender Identification Policy

The board discussed having a third category of “Prefer not to disclose” for gender selection when registering for a VHTRC event. We will update the current Transgender Policy to include gender identification.
