Trail Work on the Massanutten Trail

Over the past two weekends, three different crews from the VHTRC put in 197 hours of volunteer work in improving the Massanutten Trail in Duncan Hollow and on Short Mountain. Sheila Vibert led a crew of nine people on Sunday, September 13 clearing from Duncan Hollow to Scotthorn Gap. On Saturday, September 20, Keith Knipling led a group of four people clearing and weed whacking the southern part of Short Mountain and up to Jawbone Gap. The next day, Tom McNulty led a crew of eight tackling the entire length of Short Mountain. Tom and crew removed several trees with chainsaws.
