News From Escarpment
Congratulations to Joe Clapper, who made his annual return to his old stomping grounds in New York to once again run the very challenging Escarpment 30k in the northern Catskill Mountains. Joe notched his 22nd Escarpment finish, a race he first ran in 1984. He is the 15th runner, and the first from the VHTRC, to earn the Escarpment 400-mile shirt (I hope it is not a technical shirt, as Joe won’t wear it if it is.)
Another multi-time finisher was Hunt Bartine, who finished his lucky number 13 Escarpment in 6:22:28.
