Johnston Wins C&O Canal 100 Mile Run

The C&O Canal 100 Mile Endurance Run was conducted on April 25-26, 2015 under the guidance of Race Director Lance Dockery and volunteer coordinator Bill Susa.

VHTRC member Lisa Johnston rebounded from cold shivers in the middle of the night to win the women’s race in 21:38. Jim Treece kept pace with Lisa and finished in the same time.

The race was won by Ian Ramsey-North, who came in second at last year’s race.

Temperatures stayed low with overcast skies on Saturday, and it rained overnight, with several reports of sleet on the course. Runners struggled to stay dry and warm at the aid stations.

Several VHTRC members participated in the event, either as runners or as volunteers.
