Blue Train returns to Bighorn Wild and Scenic Trail Races
On the hottest day in race history, John Andersen was the first VHTRC finisher in the 100 with a 7th place overall finish of 21:58. Bighorn was John’s first 100. Danny Rogers and Jared Byrd also scored 100 finishes in the 90 degree temperatures. Becca Weast was the VHTRC female finisher in the 52 with an 8th place finish (second in the 20-29 age group) in 11:40 and Sara Davidson was close behind in 12:41. Sophie Speidel and Marlin Yoder were first losers, finishing second in their age groups. Many others battled the heat to finish the 50 and 50k, including Club Prez Alan Gowen, who finished the 50k just weeks after MMT. Once again, the club was well-represented with over 30 runners and supporters.
