Sheila Vibert Sets FKT on the Appalachian Trail Through Shendandoah National Park

Last weekend, VHTRC member Sheila Vibert set a female fastest known time (FKT) on the Appalachian Trail through Shenandoah National Park. Sheila started early Friday morning at Rockfish Gap and finished at the US Route 522 road crossing outside Front Royal. Her time was 26:59:55, besting the previous FKT held by VHTRC member Kathleen Cusick. Read Sheila’s report on fastestknowntime.com

The male FKTs, which were set last October, are also held by VHTRC members. John Andersen set the bar, running south in 23:48:59 on October 19. One week later, Dan Fogg ran 23:24:09 running north.
