Potomac Heritage–Potomac Overlook Loop

An 7.9-mile lollipop up and back the Potomac Heritage Trail with a loop through Potomac Overlook Park.

Directions

From Roosevelt Island follow the Potomac Heritage Trail 1.9 miles to Donaldson Run. Take a left and follow the trail along Donaldson Run up into Potomac Overlook Park. Do a loop on any of the myriad trails in Potomac Overlook and then return to Roosevelt Island on the Potomac Heritage Trail.

Note that the Potomac Heritage Trail is prone to flooding south of Chain Bridge, so this run is not advisable in the spring or after a hard rain.
